Friends of Greenview and Pioneer Nature Area, in conjunction with Ann Arbor Farm & Garden, will host a one-hour Butterfly and Wildflower Tour at the central meadow on Saturday, August 1 at 11 am. We’ll meet by the community gardens. Parking is available on Greenview Dr.
Local butterfly experts Marcy Breslow and Judy Lobato will lead a walk focused on observing and identifying butterflies. The central meadow and the Greenview Pollinator Garden are typically in peak bloom this time of year. Friends of Greenview will also offer wildflower identification and share updates on restoration and management work that supports pollinators.
The tour includes a stop at the Greenview Pollinator Garden, developed by Friends of Greenview east of the Project Grow site. The garden features native plants chosen to provide habitat for local pollinators.
Ann Arbor Farm & Garden has awarded multiple grants supporting projects at Greenview/Pioneer over the years, including the Greenview Pollinator Garden and meadow restoration and maintenance. Friends of Greenview gratefully acknowledges all contributions, which make possible both special projects and ongoing stewardship.
