Scarlett Mitchell Woods is a large wooded natural area preserves inside Ann Arbor city limits with 5 miles of trails. Residents can walk through the forest, listen to birds and easily reconnect with nature.

Gorgeous walk! I’m amazed that places like this exist in the middle of Ann Arbor!

Lots of biodiversity in this nature area and an important ecological buffer zone next to I-94, US-23, and the ever-growing Pittsfield Township. Benches along ponds and trails through tall trees are great for bird watchers. I saw a downy, red-bellied, and pileated woodpecker all in the same area at once. All sorts of different features along the paths, which makes for great hiking. Much more hiking within this nature than outlined.
