2024 Spring Serendipity Walks in Scarlett Mitchell Nature Area

Join us for one or a series of leisurely walks for folks who want to explore this neighborhood treasure – Families welcome, but please leave your pets at home.

Meet at the main entrance to the woods: West of Scarlett Middle School; south of the bus turnaround loop.

A Spring walk in the woods is always an exploration, so expect surprises. We can only guess at what Nature has in store on any given day. Bring your sense of curiosity and wonder.

We’ll see what plants are poking up through the leaves; what creatures are crawling around; introduce you to specific trees and the spring ephemerals; look and listen for migratory birds; and check out what’s living in the pond.
