What we did: Judy wrote the following: A Friends of Scarlett-Mitchell Woods crew lucked out with the weather once again on a Chilly Winter Workday, Saturday 12-06-25. The temperature was warmer than Friday and the fresh snow held off until late Saturday evening! We trimmed buckthorn seedlings along the path from the Scarlett entrance to Old Ellsworth Rd south of the Loop Trail. If you walk that way you’ll notice small piles of clippings. Those are in preparation of a controlled burn we’re planning for next spring. We’ll be scheduling more workdays, usually on the first Saturday of each month, and we welcome other volunteers!
