WHO: Everybody is welcome
WHAT: Walk along the edge of the woods, check out the Scarlett rain garden and walk down to the pond if mosquitoes allow to look for plants that bear the word WEED in their names and others that are often thought of as weeds, especially if they grow in your garden: Here are a few: Clearweed, pokeweed, milkweed, ragweed, ironweed, bindweed, etc. As for the seeds, they are everywhere at this time of the year, underfoot – tripping you on the trails, sticking to your cuffs, working their way through your socks.
WHERE: Meet at the main entrance to Scarlett Mitchell Woods (the kiosk west of Scarlett Middle School and south of the bus turnaround loop).
WHEN: 10:00 AM to Noon – Saturday October 11, 2025
We lucked out again with perfect weather! I hope all the participants enjoyed the event as much as I did. If all goes well, I’ll be adding to the bulletin board display in the next couple of days. Thanks to everyone who showed up – your presence made it worthwhile.
