Never done this before: Welcome! We’ll show you what to do and how to do it!
What we did: Thanks to the Friends who showed up for another chilly and icy, but very bright Workday in Mitchell-Scarlett Woods this past Saturday. Mike Benham helped Manfred put up a bird feeder near the entrance to the woods, while Phil Huhn, Autumn Jackson and Barb Krienke wrestled with a row of pallets near the pond. Barb brought her trusty little tractor to haul away the broken pallets. I took photos and used Manfred’s excellent cutting tool to remove blackberry canes close to the trail. (Kept hearing bird songs that I could not recognize.) After an hour and a quarter or so, Mike drove Manfred home and joined the pallet crew while I chickened out to warm up my tricky right knee and take a nap! It was good to be out in the woods despite the treacherous ice along the trails! Spring WILL come, hopefully in time for the next Workday – Saturday, April 5.
Judy kept hearing a bird that she could not see or recognize their song, here is a recording of the bird song.
