Sunrise at the pond collage

Sunrise Nature Walk (October 5, 2024)

Judy and I walked to the pond at 7:10. We were later joined by Michael and Peter.

I saw the pond, pale orange sky, ducks, geese, egret, raccoon, squirrels, reflections on the pond, small amount of fall colors, light on the trees, poison Ivy, leaves drifting down, … A gorgeous egret circled over the pond and landed on the northeast side. The raccoon was looking at us from behind a tree, as if saying what are you doing here. The duck would stick their butts in the air getting food from the bottom of the pond. A goose fanning its great wings. Waterfowls landing on the pond. Waves from waterfowls swing around.

I heard the critters in the vernal pond behind me, the splash of the ducks and geese landing on the pond, birds all around me, the scrabble of the raccoon behind me (thanks Michael for showing us), the I-94/Us-23 highway noise, …

I smelt the fresh air and the earthy muck.

I felt the cold (it was ~45 degrees) and a slight breeze.
