Who: Anyone who’s willing and able to help. Scarlett students are welcome to participate but you must bring a parent.
Where: Meet at the main entrance to the woods (just west of Scarlett Middle School; and south of the bus turnaround loop).
What to bring: Hand tools if you have them – saws, loppers, clippers. Snacks and water if desired.
When: December 2, 2023 at 1:00 – 3:00pm.
Why? To continue recent progress made on opening up the woods to sunlight, so the oaks, hickories and other native seedlings can thrive. We’ll concentrate on removing invasive shrubs such as buckthorn and honeysuckle on the north edge of the central 40 acres.
